Dumsor affects us psychologically - says pschologist

Psychologist Dr. Annie Gaisie says the ongoing frequent blackout in the country has negative psychological effects on people.

She said this on her Wellness programme on Starr 103.5FM and further explained that the deprivation of power at homes causes anxiety, create depression as well as cause lots of behaviour problems in children.

She also added that 'happy hormones' are suppressed when people are exposed to certain conditions like living in the dark.

The energy crisis is currently unbearable for most Ghanaians as businesses have been immensely affected. President Mahama in his State of Nation's Address on Thursday, February 26 vowed to fix the problem.
