The #DeadPose challenge; an intriguing trend or an act of social irresponsibility?

A new trend of pictures circulating on social media networks, particularly Facebook and Twitter show people posing dead. Some of these photographs contain obscene images a real dead people.
This craze known as the #DeadPose challenge has raised a lot of buzzes among users of these platforms. As some people find it fascinating, others have condemned the act, calling it; an act of social irresponsibility.

The mastermind behind the infamous #DeadPose challenge is believed to be 18-year old Karabo Mnisi of South Africa. With the intention of boosting "facebook celebrity" status, CGTN reports states that he will not stop posting images of people participating in the challenge until its Facebook page reaches 40,000 followers. It is a target that, maintains, has to be reached and failure to that, the challenge could get worse.

According to Mnisi, the challenge was inspired by the Hector Pieterson image in 1976. The photograph shows 14-year in a dying state during the Soweto student riot.
