Zambia to hold National Prayer Day to overcome weak currency

Edgar Lungu, President of Zam
Zambia will be seeking divine intervention for its failing currency and economy.

The country has dedicated Sunday as a National Prayer day.

All bars will be closed, and sport events cancelled for the day as citizens join in prayer and fasting on behalf of their country.

Zambian's currency Kwacha fell 45 percent against the dollar, majorly attributed to the high drop in copper price, which is the country's main export.

A prayer gathering will be held at the Heroes Stadium in Zambia's capital Lusaka, where majority of its population is said to be christian.

Zambia has been faced with inflation coupled with increased food prices and drought which has led to constant power shortages due to low water levels in Lake Kariba .
