President Mahama intervenes in Black Queens unpaid bonuses

President John Dramani Mahama has arbitrated in the ongoing misunderstanding between the government and the national women's football team, the Black Queens over unpaid bonuses which has accumulated over the past three years.

The President has instructed the Sports Ministry to immediately rally funds to settle the bonuses owed the Black Queens. Each player will receive $5,000 while waiting for the accumulated bonuses.

The Black Queens have refused to leave the M-Plaza hotel since they returned from the All Africa Games in Congo, where the won gold - over unpaid bonuses.

President Mahama gave the order from the United States where he is currently, for the United Nations General Assembly.

The alleged poor management of the female national team has raised issues of gender inequality, with many accusing the government of paying less attention to the Black Queens, as compared to their male counterparts, the Black Stars.
