Oscar Pistorius' Release Put on Hold

Oscar Pistorius will not leave prison on Friday as scheduled after South Africa's justice minister asked for a review of the decision to release him.

Pistorius received a five-year jail term 10 months ago for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013. He was acquitted of murder and convicted of culpable homicide, an unintentional but still unlawful killing.

Reeva's family, however are unhappy, saying, his release is premature.

The double-amputee runner is currently incarcerated in the Kgosi Mampuru II prison in central Pretoria, his release was approved on grounds of good behaviour.
