GHANAIAN EXONERATED AFTER SERVING 27YEARS IN PRISON FOR MURDER

Kwame Ajamu, a 57-year old Ghanaian has been exonerated in the US after spending 27 years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit.

Ajamu was convicted of murder at the age of 17 in the killing of a Cleveland money-order salesman.

On Tuesday, Kwame, who has been out on parole since 2003, wept after a judged cleared all charges against him.

He was convicted along with his brother, Wiley Bridgeman and Ricky Jackson who were all exonerated after serving maximum prison terms.

It has been alleged that Ajamu, Bridgeman and Jackson could seek a total of $4.1million in compensation.
