A 13-year-old girl in Kano, Nigeria says her father gave her to Book Haram extremist and that she was arrested after refusing a suicide bomb in Kano.
In recent months, Nigeria has suffered several attacks carried out by girls and young women. This has raised fear that the militant group is using kidnapped girls to carry out their operations.
The girl made a revelation at a news conference Wednesday night that she saw many people being buried alive at the Boko Haram camp where her father took her in Bauchi state, east of Kano.
According to her, she was asked if she wanted to go to paradise. When she said yes, her captors explained she would have to be a suicide bomber. When she refused, they threatened to kill her until she allowed them to strap her into an explosive vest.
Boko Haram has been internationally condemned for their frequent attacks and kidnapping 276 schoolgirls from a boarding school in northeast Chibok town in April. Dozens escaped but 219 remain missing. Could it be that these missing girls are now attacking their own country?
