Ghanaian singer Adomaa will perform her entire EP ‘Afraba’ live for the first time at a concert taking place on Saturday 2 April at the Alliance Française Accra.
To bring her music directly to fans, the singer has decided to give a live version of what they may have heard on radio or on the recorded album. The purpose, according to her team, is “to share with people how far she has come in the past year in the industry and to enjoy with fans and the general public her emergence as a 'butterfly' ready to take on the world" with a concert dubbed the Afraba Concert ('Afraba' is a Yoruba and Twi term meaning butterfly). The image has apparently been chosen "because its life cycle mirrors almost exactly to the letter her music journey so far."

The upcoming young singer fuses western and African influences into a sound that is unmistakably hers. According to the event organisers, the audience should expect "live music at its finest - there’s nothing like music performed with a live band, and Adomaa has been preparing for months to give people a show that will last long in the memory."

Joining Adomaa at the upcoming concert are VGMA nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year Adina, Cina and Poetra Asantewa, among others. The evening will offer music of several genres, including highlife, Afrobeat, jazz, soul, Afro-pop, R&B and even some classical music. It will also incorporate drama, poetry, dance and a display of light and sound.

The Afraba Concert stars at 8pm on Saturday. Tickets cost GHC10 for Alliance Française members and GHC20 for non-members.
