Niger Delta oil spillage
One of the nation's worst disaster happened on 18th October, 1998 when a pipeline owned by Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation exploded in Jesse, Nigeria. The fire was put out on October 23, 1998 by an American firefighting company and a total of 1,082 people lost their lives.

In the next write up, it would be told whether it's due to greed or negligence.
