UNFORGOTTEN: Suzzy Williams

Suzzy Williams  was a well-known Ghanaian television and film actress. She starred in several movies includinig Bloody Mary, Calamity, The Comforter and Mother's Heart.

She also featured in the Ghanaian hit series Fresh Trouble.

Her career as an actress was launched through the African hit film Together Forever, with a screenplay by US-based Ghanaian producer and screenwriter Leila Djansi.

She attended Tema Secondary School, where she was a member of the drama group. Suzzy sang at entertainment programmes and acted plays.

She died in a car crash on September 8, 2005 in Accra, at the age of 23.

Because of her popularity, Ghana's Art Centre refused to allow her body to lie in state, fearing it would be unable to accommodate the large numbers of mourners expected.

A memorial fund has been launched in her memory, The Suzzy Williams Memorial Fund to aid victims of road traffic accidents. She was one of actress Nana Ama Mcbrown's best friends.
