English-Ghanaian actor and model Sam Sarpong is said to have committed suicide on Monday, according to confirmed reports.
Sarpong, 40, died after jumping off a bridge in Pasadena, California. Hiss death has been ruled as suicide with autopsy pending.
Before his death, Sam had done modeling work for Versace, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karen and was face of Tommy Hilfiger for 6 years. He also a co-host for MTV's show "Yo Momma".
His other TV credits include “Pacific Blue,” “Family Matters,” “ER,”
“Boston Public,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Veronica Mars,” “Bones” and
“24.” He also had a role in FX’s heavily buzzed “American Crime Story:
The People v. O.J. Simpson,” which is set to debut next year.
He appeared in films “Carmen: The Hip Hopera,” “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and “Anchor Baby.”
Sarpong is survived by his father, Samuel Sarpong Sr., and his sister, June.
