Rawlings calls for the arrest of Talensi Perpetrators

Former President of Ghana, Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings has called for the arrest and prosecution of the people involved in acts of violence which beset the Talensi by-election.

He made his statement shortly after there had been reports of violent incidents including the firing of guns and vandalism which left some victims hospitalized.

The former President tasked law enforcement agencies to act rapidly, without fear or favour and apprehend all those who engaged in the shooting, assault and other acts of violence which took place in the constituency yesterday.

However, the by-election was still conducted in the midst of the chaos with B. T. Baba of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) winning the Talensi seat.
